NON skiers can also catch the grand Massif express to 1600m which is the mid station of Samoes ski area when they can meet up with the rest of the group and have a drink a meal on the slopes the catch the gondola back down to Samoens.
The Grand Massif Express:
As with all resorts you have to catch a lift up to ski down. Samoens is no exception.
The introduction of the Grand Massif Express gondola can now take you to 1600m in just 8 minutes. It does not arrive at the bottom of the samoens ski area but mid station where you have a choice of green, reds, blues & blacks, before catching any other lifts and discovering the 265 kms of runs in a natural mountain area and Frances 4th largest ski area.
At the end of the day with the tired legs it is some times a gods bless to catch the gondala back in to Samoens. For the die hard skiers you can take a 14 km blue run from the top of Flaine 2480 m with a vertical drop of 1800m down in to sixt, blue runs in to Morillion 1100 or the red to the Samoens Vercland where the ski buses can take you back to our chalet front door.
